Supplements for Bodybuilding

January 4th, 2012

There are a variety of supplements for bodybuilding that helps burn fat and increase muscle mass. Supplements for bodybuilding focus mainly on such things such as proteins, creatine, glutamine, leucine, and nitric oxide. The most common and easily obtained of these is the proteins.

Amino acids are the foundation of all proteins and although there are many types of amino acids, branched chain amino acids (BCAA’s) such as leucine and valine can be metabolized directly into the muscle. Whey protein, a byproduct of cheese production, is used extensively as a supplement for bodybuilding worldwide but other proteins such as casein and soy proteins are also utilized. Egg whites are another favorite source of protein.

Essential fatty acids are extremely important supplements for bodybuilding, especially those who go on low fat diets. Cold water fatty fish such as mackerel, trout and salmon are sources high in fatty acids and fish oil supplements supply these minerals in an easy to take form. Those who are not fond of the fish taste appreciate these.

Creatine has become very popular supplement for bodybuilding and has been proven to be very useful for other purposes such as improved brain function. Creatine increases strength, muscle mass and energy while reducing the recovery time of intense training. A bit of research at sites like Vince Del Monte Fitness or Amazon can be very advantageous to your workouts.
